Hey there!

I'm Alyssa, licensed educator and tutor! My teaching journey began as a tutor for students with Down Syndrome in 2016, and soon after, I became a program director at a summer camp for students with disabilities and chronic illnesses. Witnessing these incredible kids grow and learn was incredibly rewarding and ignited my passion for teaching. With degrees in Cross-Categorical Special Education and Elementary Education from Carthage College, WI, I've spent the past five years in classrooms—starting as a learning specialist for students with emotional and learning disabilities and now as a fifth-grade teacher.

I’m dedicated to creating a positive, welcoming space for students to feel valued, safe, and eager to thrive. My goal is to foster a learning environment where students feel confident to take risks, ask questions, and embrace challenges. Outside of the classroom, I’m an adventure enthusiast! From backpacking across Alaska’s Brooks Range to canoeing through Saskatchewan and climbing mountains, I’m always seeking new thrills. Growing up immersed in nature taught me the importance of fresh air and physical activity, and I bring that same spirit into my teaching. Stay tuned to see what adventures await, both in and out of the classroom!
